For sellers
What could your notes earn?
Move the three things that actually determine seller income. Everything is calculated at the 70% share you keep — no headline figures that quietly show gross.
Your situation
Most sellers start with the two or three summaries they already have.
Set $0 to model publishing everything free.
Driven mostly by cohort size. A 400-student first-year module supports far more than a 30-student elective.
What moves the number most
- Cohort size, by a wide margin
- A summary for a 400-student compulsory module will out-earn a better summary for a 25-student elective, every time. If you have notes for a big first-year course, publish those first.
- How long the module runs unchanged
- Most modules keep the same reading list for two to four years. Documents tagged to a syllabus that has just been revised earn very little, which is why we show the academic year on every listing.
- Being early on the course
- The first good document for a course code captures most of the demand. Later uploads split what is left, so there is a real advantage to publishing before others do.
- Price, less than you would expect
- Doubling your price does not halve your sales, but it does not leave them untouched either. We expect notes priced between $8 and $20 to have more total earning potential than those above $25 — worth testing against your own course rather than taking from us.
